Keep Rats Under Control!

Managing rats is a shared responsibility. While the City is responsible for maintaining public property and enforcing bylaws, property owners and businesses play an important role in preventing rat activity. You can help prevent rats from entering your business or property by taking the following steps:

• Secure garbage and food waste.

• Seal cracks and holes in your building.

• Ensure employees are trained on pest management and report rat sightings to management.

• Remove unused equipment, construction debris, garbage and wood piles from your property as these provide shelter for rats.

• If you operate restaurants or food premises, implement a proactive pest control plan
